![]() ![]() In 1975 he published his first novel, The Truth About the Savolta Case, winner of the Spanish Critics' Prize, and this was followed by El misterio de la cripta embrujada (1979), El laberinto de las aceituna (1982), City of Marvels (1986) - winner of the Ciudad de Barcelona Prize (1987) and the Grinzane Cavour Prize (Italy 1988), amongst others-, La isla inaudita (1989), Sin noticias de Gurb (1990), The Year of the Flood (1992), A Light Comedy (1996)-Prize for the Best Foreign Novel (France, 1998)-, La aventura del tocador de señora (2001) and El último trayecto de Horacio Dos (2002). ![]() He is the director of the collection "Maestros Modernos Hispánicos" published by Círculo de Lectores. Eduardo Mendoza worked as a translator and interpreter at the United Nations in New York, where he lived from 1973 to 1982. ![]()
